James McAdams is wanted on charges of attempted murder
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man charged with attempted murder.

Officers are looking for James “Jimmy” Merral McAdams, Jr., 19, in connection with an armed robbery attempt that happened over the weekend.

According to a police department news release, a 20-year-old Kansas City, Mo. man said someone attempted to rob him at gunpoint just before 2 a.m. Friday at 24th Street and Murphy Drive.

The victim told officers when he tried to run away, the suspect fired several shots at him. The victim was not hurt.

McAdams is 5 foot 9, weighs 170 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Police said he might be driving a dark green Mitsubishi Galant with a 30 day temporary tag.
