KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City School District will begin an official head count of its workforce on Thursday.  It’s one of two paycheck distributions, in which district officials will meet employees face to face.  Each employee will be required to show identification and verify personal information.

Administrators will visit schools and other district building in person, starting with employees paid bi-weekly, this Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6.  Workers paid semi-monthly will go through the process on November 23 and 24.

The district has planned the move for months to verify the size of its work force. District leaders believe it will help ensure no one is getting paid who shouldn't be.  A spokesman admits they do not have an accurate count of just how many workers the district employs.
