KANSAS CITY, Mo. - a feature-length documentary about high school student athletes in the Kansas City Missouri School District is set to screen Tuesday night. 

CityBall received the 2009 Mid America Emmy Documentary Culture award.

The documentary covers the budget cuts, below average facilities, coaching turn-over and staffing shortages within the Interscholastic League. 

The documentary looks at students who live in low-income surroundings and work multiple jobs.  

This project explores the positive role of sports in the lives of these students.  It also delves into the roles played by parents, coaches, and school administrators in the many decisions that influence the futures of young athletes in Kansas City.

The documentary was produced by Emmy award winner and Metro Sports producer Stephen Spiegel.  It aired on the Metro Sports Cable Channel is will now be available on DVD.

A long list of people are expected to attend the screening/town hall, including the athletes featured in the film as well as employees from the athletics department.
