KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A bus carrying some of the Cleveland Indians baseball team was involved in a minor accident Wednesday morning in Kansas City.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. in the 6200 block of Blue Parkway as the bus was on its way to Kauffman Stadium for a 1:10 p.m. game

A statement issued by the Indians says the bus, carrying nine players, one staff member and the driver, was hit in the rear by a vehicle.

Police tell NBC Action News both vehicles were driving eastbound on Blue Parkway when they somehow ran into each other.

Both vehicles’ drivers say the other came into their lane and struck them. The driver of the car was ticketed for driving without a license and taken to an area hospital for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries.

Nobody on the bus was injured. After about 20 minutes, cars arrived to take the players and staffer to the stadium.

This was not the first time a bus carrying Indians players was involved in some sort of incident in Kansas City.

In 2004, then-rookie pitcher Kyle Denney suffered minor flesh wounds when an apparently-stray bullet struck his leg as a bus left Kansas City after a game. Kansas City Police say no arrests were ever made in that incident.
