KANSAS CITY, Kan. - A
woman that was kidnapped is back at home with her husband. He speaks out about his harrowing ordeal and what kept him going while her fate lied in the hands of a kidnapper.
Randy Auderer moved to Kansas City, Kan., two years ago with wife Terri Auderer. He never imagined that she would be the victim of a kidnapping after walking in on an intruder in her home.
Randy is a trucker who is often on the road away from home. He found out about his wife's abduction while driving back from a job.
"I learned a little bit when I was in Garnett, Kansas and I was still trucking. It was a long ways away and I thought Oh, this is going to be a long drive home," Randy said.
He says he never gave up hope. He just wanted her back home.
"It was a terrifying time and I know what I went through. I couldn't even imagine what Terri went through," Randy said.
He gratefully found out just a few hours later. Police found Terri in North Kansas City, Kan., near where she was let go by her abductor.
Randy said his wife was shaken up and said she had been "shoved around." He is grateful to have her back.
"She's alive. She's home and she's safe and she's happy," said Randy.
He is grateful to the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department and to local media for getting the word out.
Police are still looking for a large white van and the kidnapping suspect.
