KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City Fire Department officials are on the scene at a downtown office building where the hazardous materials team is responding to reports of an unknown white powder.
About 10:50 a.m. Monday crews were called to the office building.
Fire crews report that five people were exposed to a white powdery substance from an envelope.
The material has been contained. The employees are being checked out. No injuries have been reported.
The hazardous material team had left the scene by 11 a.m., and ambulances cleared the area by 11:30 a.m., though there were still fire officials on scene at that time.
