KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Missouri health officials say they are seeing a decrease in the number of reported H1N1 cases.
The trend has been winding down in the past few weeks.
Kansas City Health Department Spokesman Jeff Hershberger says that can be partially attributed to the number of people getting vaccinated.
Kansas City North Hospital Emergency Room doctor Gary Carter says there have been fewer people coming in to his emergency room with H1N1 related symptoms.
"When it comes to pandemics, usually there's a peak and it kind of tapers off about this time of year,” said Carter. This might be a little earlier than earlier pandemics.”
That lull might be short lived now that people are traveling this holiday season.
"There's going to be more travel and when that happens, there's a risk of more people becoming ill," said Hershberger.
