Guilty Plea After Pipe Bomb Found in Leawood

LEAWOOD, Kan. – A Kansas City man pleaded guilty after officials found a pipe bomb in his car.

Porter Saxton, 49, pleaded guilty to criminal use of explosives and attempted felony possession of drugs.

He was arrested in May after police stopped him for speeding and found a pipe bomb in the trunk of his car near 95th and Mission in Leawood.  In addition, police found drugs in his car.

He will be sentenced in September.
