KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The public is invited to see homes that meet new environmental standards.

The Argentine Neighborhood Development Association (ANDA) will hold the three open houses from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30.

The group works on housing issues in the area.

The open homes will be at 1238 Ruby, 1230 Ruby and 1215 Metropolitan.

These homes represent not only a new, affordable housing opportunity for families but also will improve the overall neighborhood.

The association will also use a public-private partnership to install new curbs and sidewalks in the neighborhood which will greatly enhance the quality of life for all the residents in Argentine.

The homes feature the latest in Energy-Efficiency technology, including solar heating and energy efficient appliances and materials.

ANDA has partnered with the Board of Public Utilities to provide Heat Pumps for the new homeowners. As a result of the many green, energy efficient items the new homeowners will enjoy substantial savings in utility bills for years to come, ensuring the homes remain affordable in the long run.
