JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Mo. Gov. Jay Nixon Monday announced the appointment of Kellie Ritchie as Lafayette County Prosecuting Attorney.

Ritchie, 46, of Lexington, replaces Page Bellamy who joined the staff of Attorney General Chris Koster.

Ritchie served as assistant prosecuting attorney in Clinton County from 1999 until 2005. She most recently worked in private practice in Lafayette County. Ritchie is a 1988 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Law.

"Kellie Ritchie has proven her ability to represent the citizens of Missouri in prosecuting cases in two different counties," Gov. Nixon said. "Lafayette County has been very ably represented by Page Bellamy for many years, and I am confident Ms. Ritchie will continue that strong representation."
