KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A 10-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted inside a classroom at a Kansas City elementary school.
An incident report from the Kansas City Police Department says the alleged rape happened Monday inside a classroom at George Washington Carver Elementary School, 4600 Elmwood Ave.
According to the report, the girl says a teacher left her and the suspect, who has not been identified by name or age, inside a classroom by themselves.
The report says the girl denied the suspect’s request for oral sex and he then raped her.
When the victim told the teacher what had happened, he allegedly told the girl to “stop tattling.”
The victim later told her mother what happened and her mother took her to the hospital, where an examination produced evidence of a possible sexual assault, the incident report said.
The teacher has been “reassigned,” pending an outcome of an internal and police investigation, Kansas City School District Spokesman Andre Riley said.
