KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The streets outside St. James United Methodist Church were lined with cars Monday morning as funeral services were held for three people killed last week in a Raytown apartment.
The bodies of 21-year-old Precious Triplett and her two young nephews were found inside Triplett’s apartment last Monday. The body of Andre Jones, Triplett’s 33-year-old boyfriend, was also found there.
Police say they are the victim’s of Raytown’s first multiple homicide since the 1990s.
No suspects were in custody as of Monday morning, but on Friday, officers said they were close to making an arrest after serving a search warrant at Triplett’s ex-boyfriend’s house.
Police have not identified any potential suspects and have not said what, if any, evidence they pulled from the home her ex-boyfriend shares with his parents.
Monday, parents held their kids hands and walked blocks to get to the church.
Only two caskets were inside. One is where Triplett will rest. The boys will be buried together.
Jones’ funeral will be held Tuesday.
