KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A 12-year-old bass player, whose parents are both on active duty in the U.S. Army, is part of a band selected to play on a Caribbean cruise.

The catch is that Michaela Davis and others in the Paul Green School of Rock House Band must raise the money to fund the trip. They’ve been selected to play on the "ShipRocked" cruise to Jamaica and the Grand Caymans in November.

Briarcliff Village has agreed to "Adopt a Rocker" and invited Michaela and the School of Rock House Band to perform at 6:30 Sunday evening, July 5, at Mulberry Lake. Money donated at the concert will be given to the young performers.

Michaela’s father, Major Mike Davis, is currently serving in Iraq. Her mother, Gina Davis, is a Captain in the Army Nurse Corp and now serving at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.
