SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt received a ticket Monday for an accident that sent one man to the emergency room.

Springfield police ticketed Blunt for failure to yield.

Police say Blunt was driving a Ford Explorer in central Springfield when he came to the intersection on Cherry Street. After stopping at the sign, Blunt apparently didn't see the scooter and continued through the intersection. The scooter did not have a stop sign, and as Blunt pulled out, the scooter ran into the rear passenger door of Blunt's SUV.

The driver of the scooter suffered scrapes to his head and arms, and was taken to an emergency room.

The former governor was not hurt.

Blunt left office in January, and resides in Springfield.
