CLAYCOMO, Mo. – A regularly-scheduled shutdown in production will begin a week earlier this year for some employees at the Claycomo Ford Assembly Plant.

All UAW-Ford hourly employees assigned to the Truck System and supporting departments for the F-150 were laid off beginning Monday. They will not return to work until after the first vacation shutdown ends for all employees on July 6.

A second week of stopped production for all employees is scheduled for the week of Aug. 17.

On their Web site, UAW 249 said most employees have enough vacation time to cover the stoppage, and the rest may qualify for unemployment benefits.
