OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Sprint showed off its new Palm Pre smart phone Tuesday. They believe it will become an icon.
Sprint Senior Vice President of Product Technology Development Kevin Packingham called the phone a “brand-lifter” that could boost the company's profile.
The Palm Pre is a touch-screen phone with a keyboard. It is the only smart phone that allows users to multi-task using several different programs at once.
“We believe that this device is different than anything anyone has seen in the industry,” Packingham said. “When you take these incremental steps and raise the bar for everyone else in the industry, that’s how we think of an iconic device. We believe the Palm Pre is capable of doing that.”
The phone hits stores June 6 and costs $200.
