CLAY COUNTY, Mo. - The first of the H1N1 flu vaccination clinics opened to the public Wednesday.

So many people lined up, the Clay County Health Department came close to running out.

The clinic was reserved exclusively for healthy 2 to 4 year olds.

They are among the most vulnerable to fall victim to the swine flu.

Clay County went through 350 doses in less than two hours.

They say it's the first of other clinics for the public.

The public health director tells parents not to worry if their child didn't get the flu mist Monday.

"We've got more shipments coming in weekly so if your child didn't get vaccinated today it doesn't mean you've lost your chance," Clay County Public Health Director Gary Zaborac said.

Clay County has enough new H1N1 doses that it’s already started distributing to private doctors office, pharmacies and plans to hold more public clinics.

In the upcoming weeks, Clay County and Johnson County plan to take vaccines directly into schools and big daycares.

Children under 10 must get two doses within 28 days.

The Clay County Health Department will notify all families whose children were inoculated Wednesday.
