KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Heavy smoke and flames erupted from an east side Kansas City home just before 3 p.m. Tuesday.

No injuries were reported. The residents were reportedly not home at the time.

Firefighters reported heavy smoke and flames when they arrived at the home at 2914 Victor. A working fire response was immediately called.

Firefighters went into a defensive mode about 15 minutes later, and evacuated the building and fought it from the outside.

Crews were still fighting the fire 30 minutes later.

Fire consumed the roof and part of the side of the building. No word yet on what caused that blaze.
