OLATHE, Kan. - Investigators are looking into the cause of an early morning fire at a group home for teens.
The fire started just before 1 a.m. at the Temporary Lodging for Children (TLC) on South Rogers Road.
Firefighters said the fire broke out on the second floor of the east wing of the building. The flames were quickly extinguished with the help of the facility’s automatic sprinkler system.
All 22 people inside the building were able to evacuate and no one was hurt. TLC officials sheltered them in another part of the facility.
Investigators said damage is estimated at $25,000.
