Family, Friends Gather for Metro Girl’s Funeral

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nineteen-year-old Jasmine Lynn was laid to rest Saturday.

Friends and family of the teen from Kansas City gathered at the Concord Fortress of Hope Church on West Longview Parkway.

Lynn graduated from Lincoln College Preparatory Academy last year and was a student at Spelman College in Atlanta. On Sept. 3, she was walking on the campus of Clark Atlanta University when she was hit by a stray bullet and killed.

The teen was remembered Saturday for her spirit, sense of humor, determination and lack of fear.

Several people spoke at Lynn's funeral including 1st Sergeant Herman Brown with the ROTC and the V.P. of Student Affairs at Spelman College.
