KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Kansas City family celebrated a milestone Sunday -- keys to their new home.

The Habitat for Humanity project brought together Christian, Jewish and Islamic communities to build the new home at 3528 Flora.

Congregations involved in the project include: Visitation and St. Francis Xavier Catholic parishes, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Grace & Holy Trinity Cathedral, All Saints, St. Anne’s, and Mary Magdalene Episcopal congregations, and Congregation Ohev Shalom, Temple B’nai Jehudah, Al Inshirah Islamic Center, and Jacob’s Well Church.

The Christian, Jewish and Muslim communities first came together in 2007 with Habitatfor Humanity-Kansas City.

In 30 years, Habitat KC has built more than 200 houses and rehabbed many more, providing quality housing for hundreds in our community.
