KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Superintendent Dr. John Covington will be among district leaders at a meeting with members of the media Monday morning.
Covington and his new leadership team will speak candidly about their goals, priorities and backgrounds during the meeting at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Covington has drawn a diverse set of leaders from across the country to lead all aspects of the district’s operations - financial, academic, operations, staffing, and research.
These leaders will introduce themselves in two-to-three minute statements and field questions as a collective before becoming available for individual comments during the final 15 minutes of the meeting.
The team will address vital topics such as staffing reductions, school consolidations, updates to curriculum, leadership philosophies, District finances and early experiences.
The meeting with the media will mark the first time the leadership team has met in a public forum. It will be held at the Board of Education Building at 1211 McGee St. It is not open to the public.
