PLATTE CITY, Mo. – Platte County prosecutors have charged a Colorado man with invasion of privacy after a police officer allegedly found suggestive photos of an 8-year-old girl on his cell phone.
Christopher Fish, 40, of Silt, Colo., was approached by an officer on June 7 at Mid West Audio after a woman reported that she thought Silt may have taken pictures up her skirt.
According to court documents, the officer got permission from Silt to look at the pictures on his cell phone and found at least one picture of a girl that was later determined to be 8 years old.
An image showed the 8-year-old sitting on a hill with her knees apart and her crotch and underwear visible, police said.
Silt admitted that it was inappropriate and eventually told the officer to stop looking at his phone.
According to the court documents, Silt was taken into custody and interviewed the following day. He confirmed that his phone contained about 2,500 images, adding that 30 of those were of women at Mid West Audio.
Investigators say Silt admitted to getting sexually excited by taking what he called "inappropriate photos" of females who were unaware of it.
He denied knowingly taking photos of an 8-year-old but acknowledged that he may have taken a photo of someone who was later found to be 8 years old. He said that he was too far away to know her age.
