KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City is having its annual Cinco de Mayo celebration but it will be the weekend after the big day.
The celebration starts Friday, May 8 and goes through the weekend at Crown Center in Kansas City, Mo.
Held inside "Margarita Cove" at the fiesta, Chamber members will vote on who makes the Best Margarita in Kansas City.
It's the tenth annual event, so the theme is "La Mejor de la Decada" - the "Best of the Decade".
It's free and open to the public with food for sale and free entertainment. Music will be provided by the Tejano Award Winning Los Desperadoz direct from San Antonio, Texas.
Friday, the event is from 5 -10 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, the fiesta will start at 1 p.m. and go until 10 p.m. On Sunday, Mother’s Day, several companies are expected to hand out freebies and there will be free mini-massages in the Family Fun Zone for moms.
