KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Before you hit the big race at the speedway on Sunday, there are a couple more family-friendly outdoor events to enjoy around the Kansas City area.
Starting today, the Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 30th Annual Gladstone Gladfest at Central Park, 70th & North Holmes. Festivities run from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Events include a carnival, parade, live music, food, contests for all ages, and vendor booths. Admission is free.
On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., motor-heads are sure to find a good time at the 2nd Annual Iron Misfits Fall Show and Shine, happening at Lone Jack High School, 313 S. Bynum Rd, in Lone Jack, Missouri—just east of Lee’s Summit.
The event is a fundraiser for the school district, and the Iron Misfits car club.
The show features cars, trucks, and vans, as well as motorcycles and trikes. Concessions will be available, and don’t miss the live DJ. Trophies and door prizes will be awarded. Registration is $20.
