KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City's Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is hosting a two-day birthday celebration in honor of legendary baseball player and coach Buck O'Neil.

O'Neil would have turned 98 Friday. In honor of his birthday, Kansas City Area First Watch Restaurants will donate profits from 10 restaurants Friday directly to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Several former Royals and Negro League players planned to make appearances at different restaurant locations throughout the morning. First Watch is open from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. daily.

The Buck O'Neil tribute continues Saturday with a series of events at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. You can tour the museum Saturday for the special museum price of $1 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

From 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., local civic leaders will share their reflections on O'Neil's life at the Coors Field of Legends. Guests will enjoy free cupcakes and refreshments throughout the day.

The day will also include extra savings at the Museum Store, and live jazz music will be played in the Museum Atrium from Noon until 4 p.m.

The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum is located in Kansas City at 18th and Vine.
