INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – It’s been said a picture is worth a thousand words. You can find out this weekend in Independence.
The Capture the Moment: The Pulitzer Prize Photographs is being called the most comprehensive display of photos winning the annual award ever shown in the U.S. It’s a collection of 66 years worth of photographs that have won journalism's highest honor.
The exhibit will be shown at the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum from Saturday through Jan. 24.
The collection displays all of the winning photos from 1942 through last year. It includes Joe Rosenthal's 1945 photograph of Marines raising the American flag at Iwo Jima and shots from the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in 2001.
