LEVASY, Mo. – A then-pregnant woman and her newborn were recovering Sunday night after the woman was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a railroad crossing accident.
Authorities say the woman was already near the end of her pregnancy, and doctors were able to successfully deliver the baby Saturday night.
The Jackson County Sheriff's office says a second person was also injured in the accident, though the extent of the second person's injuries was not immediately known.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
