Teen Killed In Wrong Way Crash

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – A teenager was killed late Saturday night after two car crash.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 24 and Davis Rd.

According to the Kansas City Star, a car being driven by a 19-year-old Blue Springs, Mo. man was going the wrong way when he hit another car being driven by 17-year-old girl.

The impact killed a 16-year old girl who was a passenger in the second car.

The driver of the first car along with the 17-year-old driver of the second car and another passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries.

Investigators say alcohol was likely a factor. The 19-year-old driver who caused the crash was taken into custody.

Charges are expected to be filed on Monday.

The names of the suspect and the victims have not been released.
