GARDEN CITY, Ks. – Police say when a teacher called for help after being stabbed in the leg, beaten and robbed in his classroom was made up.
Police issued Michael Blanks a $300.00 ticket Wednesday for falsely reporting a crime.
Blanks is a teacher at Alta Brown Elementary school. He told police he was assaulted by two men in August.
Police now say Blanks made that story up. They believe he was hurt after he fell off a desk while stapling things to a wall in his classroom. Police are not sure why the teacher made up the story.
The school says they are investigating, but no disciplinary action has been taken.
