BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – Thieves targeted shoppers’ cars in Blue Springs on Tuesday.

Around 5:30 p.m. the Blue Springs Police Department responded to the 400 block of NE Coronado where at least six vehicles were broken into with items stolen.

Witnesses say a white Dodge Charger was driving through the area and stopping at different vehicles. The driver would then get out of the Charger and break the car window to steal whatever was inside the vehicle.

Earlier in the day, the same Dodge Charger was seen committing similar crimes at the 1400 block of SW Eagles Parkway in Grain Valley.

The suspects got away with purses, cash, credit cards and gifts totaling almost $3,000.

The vehicle used in these crimes was stolen from a Lee’s Summit driveway earlier in the week while the owner was warming up the car.

The male suspect was caught on security cameras entering an Olathe Hy-Vee and trying to cash a check that belongs to the owner of the stolen Charger.

If you have recognize the man pictured, or know where the Dodge Charger may be, you are urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip at www.bluespringsgov.com/tips.
