St. JOSEPH, Mo.- When Carol Black woke up Friday morning, she didn't expect to see 3:20 a.m. on her alarm clock.

"At first I thought it was lightning," said Black. "It shook my whole house.  My daughter got up, too, and she asked if it was lightning, but it was not raining."

Black woke up to an explosion at the A.G. Processing Inc. plant in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Black says the plant is almost five miles from her home.

She adds she didn't know what the sound was for hours until she turned on the news.

"I kept telling myself it was a car backfire or something, but that doesn't shake your house," Black said, "It was scary."

Black isn't alone. People from all over town told the same story.

Another man that woke up to the boom says he thought someone banged on his door until he went to answer it and found no one there.

The clerk working at a nearby gas station says the explosion shook the entire building.

Black can't believe an explosion she felt miles away injured no one.

"It's a miracle," she said.
