KANSAS CITY, Mo. – According to crime rankings issued Monday, St. Louis is the second most dangerous city in the nation.  Kansas City is also close to the top of the list, ranked at 15th.  Camden, New Jersey came in first.

The ranking are part of the CQ Press' Safest Cities in America. The City Crime Rankings for 2009-2010 are an annual collection of data comparing crime numbers, rates and trends throughout the country.

Other Metro cities included are Independence (107th), Overland Park (357th), and Lee’s Summit (364th).

The crime rate rankings of nearly 400 cities were calculated using six categories: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and motor vehicle theft, as reported to the FBI in calendar year 2008.
