KANSAS CITY, Mo. – We saw the first snowfall of the season in parts of the metro Monday morning, and more could be headed toward Kansas City.
NBC Action News Meteorologist Gary Lezak says we are going to be under the influence of our current storm system until Wednesday.
Gary says much of eastern Kansas and western Missouri will see periods of rain and drizzle, at times mixing with snow or sleet through early Wednesday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported slick roads, mostly from St. Joseph, Mo., to Maryville, and Kansas City International Airport reported several delays in flights.
A Winter Storm Warning was in effect Monday morning for Northeastern Kansas and Winter Weather Advisories were in effect for Atchison and Leavenworth counties in Kansas and Platte, Clinton, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth counties in Missouri.
The advisories run through 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Gary says we are not expecting any problems on the roads as temperatures stay above 32.
