OLATHE, Kan. - A former youth pastor is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
Wayne Huston, 45, faces a charge of indecent liberties with a child.
Huston made his first court appearance Monday in Johnson County Court in Olathe.
The girl's mother checked her daughter's phone and found inappropriate text messages, according to an Overland Park Police Department spokesman.
The mother reported her findings to a Kansas social services agency.
That agency alerted police, according to the spokesman.
Huston worked as a youth pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Overland Park.
He was terminated in August.
