Diagnosing scoliosis
Scoliosis is the abnormal curvature of the spine, and it can be diagnosed by a visit to the chiropractor. It occurs mostly in young women during puberty, so it's important that girls between ages 11 and 20 receive a spine examination.
Knee and ankle
The joints and bones of the legs are designed to absorb incredible amounts of pressure, but problems can occur when the joints are repeatedly stressed.
Perfecting posture
Perfecting posture may seem like a simple task, but it can take time, practice, and personal discipline. Reminding yourself to sit up straight is one way, but you can also consult a chiropractor who can teach you methods to correct poor posture.
Slipped sacroiliac joints
The sacroiliac (sack-row-ILL-ee-ack) vertebrae are located where the spine meets the pelvis, and is commonly referred to as the lower back. The gel-like discs in the sacroiliac vertebrae, which act as padding between the bones of the spine, can slip out of place and press on the surrounding nerves.
