KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The Christopher S. Bond Bridge moved closer toward completion Saturday.
Crews installed the 40th and final cable to the new Missouri River crossing. Now road crews have the support they need to finish the bridge.
The new Bond Bridge is part of a $245 million project that also includes widening Interstate 29 and Interstate 35 to three lanes in each direction from downtown to Armour Road. The entire project is expected to be done by June 2011.
On Saturday, drivers said they’ll be happy once the construction over the Missouri river is over.
Right now there are over a hundred thousand drivers who use the Paseo Bridge. Northland resident Ted Ferris is one of them.
“I think it's going to be great when it's done,” said Ferris.
More information on the project is available at the project’s website .
