Improvements mean headaches for some Johnson County Motorists

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas - Construction is underway at the intersection of College Boulevard and Antioch in Overland Park, Kansas.  The project started on Saturday and is expected to take ten days. The area is being reconstructed as part of te widening of Antioch from 108th street south to120th street.

Alternate routes are I-435 for eastbound and westbound traffic and Metcalf Avenue for northbound and southbound traffic.   More than 24,000 vehicles travel north and south on Antioch and more than 19,000 vehicles travel east and west on College Boulevard.

Improvements being added are storm sewers, turn lanes, curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The project is estimated to cost $8.3 million.
