A back to school supply drive provided a little relief to over a thousand Kansas City students Saturday morning.
The Believers Community Church North Campus hosted a school supply drive and parents and children lined up for the free supplies.
NBC Action News Anchor Cynthia Newsome was at the event to help out.
Mother of three children, Charlene Matthews said in this tough economy the back to school event is appreciated.
“”It gives those that actually need the help, the help with out having to search around and try to find places and scramble to get school supplies.”
The Scripps Howard Foundation, the parent company of NBC Action News was a sponsor of this year’s “Back to School Blast.”
