Stormy Night Knocks Out Power in NE Kansas

ATCHISON, Kan. – Authorities said storms early Thursday morning caused power outages and damage across Atchison County, Kansas.

A sheriff’s department dispatcher said strong winds knocked down numerous trees and power lines.

Authorities also received reports that at least one semi was blown over. No injuries were reported.

Westar crews have been working to restore power since early Thursday morning. At one point more than 4,000 customers were in the dark.
