KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Most of the metro area got a good soaking on Wednesday, and some areas saw flash flooding early in the day. More of the same could come on Thursday.

Although no severe weather is expected, NBC Action Weather Plus Meteorologist Gary Lezak says we can expect showers and thunderstorms for a large portion of our area during the early morning hours on Thursday. Some areas could see one to two inches of rain before sunrise.

Gary says it is still possible for some areas to see very little or no rain during those same pre-dawn hours.

Rain will likely continue on Thursday before finally tapering off in the afternoon.
