KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Overnight rain has left the roads damp, but there were no major accidents to report.
Repoter Lindsay Shively was at the scene of some minor accidents this morning. See her
report from this morning's edition of NBC Action News Today here.
Officials from Missouri State Highway Patrol say the rain caused several drivers to slide off metro roadways Thursday morning, including a truck and trailer that turned over into a ditch off of Interstate 35 in Pleasant Valley, Missouri.
It happened just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday near Pleasant Valley Road in the southbound lanes of I-35. The pick-up truck remained on all four wheels, but the enclosed trailer it was pulling slid onto its side.
Tow truck crews spent the morning fighting slick grass while trying to pull the trailer up. Officials say no one was hurt and the accident didn't block any traffic.
More rain is expected throughout the day. Allow a few extra minutes to get to work and school this morning.
Meteorologist Jeremy Nelson says a flash flood is in effect until 1 p.m. for Johnson and Pettis counties in Missouri.
