LRC Shows Wet and Stormy Winter Ahead

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City is about to have a rather stormy winter season, but it will be balanced out by some warmer & drier periods.

The winter forecast is based on my weather pattern theory, Lezak's Recurring Cycle, also called the LRC.

This year's weather pattern is very different than what we have seen in recent years and it looks like a very wet one for us.  Storm systems will likely be reaching their peak strength over the Rockies, extending out into the plains, this year.

Expect above average amounts of rain and snow with temperatures forecast to be near average this winter.

Storm systems will be more organized and stronger near Kansas City this winter. This has to mean above-average amounts of snow.

We will have two or three cold blasts of Arctic air, but the warmer stretches will likely be just enough to put us near average for overall temperatures.

The kids should get more snow days than last winter. Last year, some school districts didn't even have one snow day.

We may actually have enough snow to break out the shovels and sleds this winter!
