KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Wednesday was a special day for Joshua Berr.
This four-year-old from Ottawa, Kansas has leukemia and will begin treatments soon, and he had one wish that he hoped would be granted.
His wish is to go to Disney World and that is going to happen in September. Joshua is very interested in weather as well, so his parents thought it would be a great idea to have him help with the weather at NBC Action News.
Make a Wish Foundation came in to help, calling Gary Lezak at NBC Action News to see if he could help out with his Joshua's request. Joshua arrived at the NBC Action News studios at around 2 p.m. Wednesday and Gary gave him, and his family, a tour of the station.
Then it was time to test his new skills at helping out with the weathercast. Our 24-hour weather channel, NBC Action Weather Plus, was where Joshua made his forecasting debut. Joshua was on the air at the beginning of one of the weather segments. He satisified his dream and did a great job.
Now, Joshua will be on his way to Disney World in September and then he will begin treatments for his leukemia in October.
We would like to thank Make A Wish for helping make this all happen for Joshua. Everyone at NBC Action News had a great time meeting this wonderful kid.
