Reported by: Jeff Vaughn
Last Update: 10/29/2008 12:00 pm
Many viewers, out of curiosity, have asked me what states allow early voting. Good Question.

Let's begin with Kansas and Missouri.

Kansas allows no-excuse absentee voting by mail and/or in-person early voting.  There are 32 other states that allow this.  They are: WA, ID, MT, WY, ND, SD, NE, CO, UT, NV, CA, AZ, NM, TX, OK, AR, LA, IA, IL, WI, IN, OH, TN, GA, FL, NC, WV, VT, ME, NJ, AK & HI.

Missouri requires an excuse for absentee voting.  There are 14 other states and the District of Columbia that require an excuse.  They are: MN, MS, AL, SC, KY, MI, VA, PA, NY, NH, MA, CT, MD, DE.

Oregon is the only state that requires all vote-by-mail.
