KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The election may be over, but some people are now suffering post-election despair.
If you’re wondering what this so-called depression is, the answer is simple.
For the past two years, we’ve been inundated with polls and campaign coverage. Then on Nov. 5th, it came to an abrupt end.
"There is some sadness to that," said David Kronmiller, a frequently contributor to iReport.com.
In fact, some say the whole post-election aftermath is similar to a drug withdraw.
Nancy Molitor, a clinical psychologist Wilmette, Illinois, says some of her patients actually developed anxiety over what will change with the new president or have become cynical about anything changing at all.
"This lady is in her 80s, and she told me she's never in her life been excited about a campaign as she is about this campaign, and she knows it's filled this void in her life," she said.
But the information overload is not the only reason why people are suffering depression.
Some are upset about the fact Barack Obama beat John McCain in the 2008 Election. Experts say that type of depression is quite normal.
