KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Missouri gubernatorial candidate Jay Nixon is lending a helping hand to other Democrats seeking statewide office.
Several recent polls show Nixon is well ahead of Missouri Congressman Kenny Hulshof in the governor's race, and he has a sizeable fundraising advantage.
Campaign reports show Nixon has provided $25,000 to attorney general candidate Chris Koster, $25,000 to lieutenant governor candidate Sam Page, and $75,000 to state treasurer candidate Clint Zweifel.
Koster switched parties and is running for Nixon's current job of attorney general against Kirkwood Republican Michael Gibbons. Physician Sam Page is trying to unseat current Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder. And treasurer hopeful Clint Zweifel faces Republican Brad Lager in the race to replace Republican Sarah Steelman as Missouri State Treasurer.
