JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Division of Tourism has a new director.
The Missouri Tourism Commission Tuesday appointed Kathleen Steele Danner as the division's new director. Danner replaces Bob Smith, effective immediately.
"We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Steele Danner as director of the Missouri Division of Tourism," said Marci Bennett, Chair, Missouri Tourism Commission. "We are very confident in her capabilities, her abilities and her work with the industry. She will be a great asset to our marketing effort to promote the entire state of Missouri.
Danner previously worked as Deputy Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. Prior to her work with the Department of Economic Development, Danner worked in public relations, served the federal government in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and spent three terms representing Northeast Missouri in the Missouri General Assembly.
