LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon will introduce his appointment for Director of Missouri Department of Economic Development during an event Thursday in Lee's Summit, Mo.
The Governor will make his announcement at a St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce luncheon, then travel with the Director-desgnee to Metropolitan Community College-Longview in Lee's Summit for a roundtable discussion with college and business leaders.
The discussion will focus on the state's workforce needs and the opportunities needed to make Missouri's workforce more competitive in the future.
The new director will replace Linda Martinez, who resigned in Aug.
