LAWRENCE, Kan. - The University of Kansas is mourning the loss of a longtime employee.

Veteran secretary in the German department, Montana Huslig, died recently at her home. The chair of the department says Huslig served students and faculty cheerfully since 1980. She was considered a mentor and friends to hundreds of students over that time.

"She will be sorely missed. Our sincere condolences are extended to her husband, children, extended family and friends, says William Keel, professor and chair of the German Department.
